Unlike legacy transcription tools that inject clumsy recording bots or tamper with browser DOMs, Haggle is built from the ground up as a native operating system overlay.
1. Native Rust Audio Driver Loopback
On Windows 10/11, Haggle attaches to the native WASAPI Loopback endpoint. On macOS, it leverages Apple’s CoreAudio Tap via a high-performance Rust napi-rs module. It requires zero virtual audio cables (no BlackHole, no VB-Cable) and intercepts speaker audio with sub-129ms latency normalized to 16,000 Hz PCM chunks.
2. Screen-Share Window Cloaking
When you share your desktop during a meeting, Haggle’s HUD is protected using OS-level capture exclusion (SetWindowDisplayAffinity(WDA_EXCLUDEFROMCAPTURE) on Windows and NSWindowSharingNone on macOS via Electron setContentProtection(true)). You can share your entire monitor on Zoom, Teams, or Meet without Haggle appearing to anyone else.
3. Ambient Auto-Answer Evaluator
Instead of requiring continuous manual typing during an intense debate, Haggle’s background engine continuously parses speaker turns, filters out backchannels (“uh-huh”, “got it”), and streams bulleted answers automatically on meaningful speech pauses when enabled via Cmd/Ctrl + F.
